PAT was originally founded in conjunction with the Irish Times Group and Gerry has been its Managing Director since 2018. He has lectured for more than 25 years with all of the professional accountancy bodies and on two occasions he was shortlisted for the CIMA Global Accountancy lecturer of the year award.

I was struggling with FR, failed once with 49% and passed with 50% at my second attempt (not your school!) so you can imagine how nervous I was having to take SBR which is completely different exam format and technique.
With English not being my first language, in full time job training for a new position, and on top of that a mature student (you could say geriatric even!!!) doesn’t really help and build the confidence.

I was under time pressure to prepare for this exam with only two months of preparation and then to find out that I had booked the Irish Variant of SBR in error didn’t help things either.
After I spoke with Gerry, he assured me that a pass is absolutely possible provided I follow his detailed notes, videos, and trust in the ‘GF method’. That is what I did and thankfully it all paid off.
It was a topic I knew I was going to struggle with given its complexities and varying topics, however it was made much easier thanks to the guided pack provided by PAT Business School which highlighted the main areas and so made my study time far more effective which was imperative given the time constraints.

I am still in shock because I passed the SBR exam with the highest result (72%) I had so far in any of my ACCA exams.

Following on my graduation from the National College Ireland – I decided to take the ACCA SBR course with PAT Business School. I found the teaching style of PAT really suited my style of learning.

Having come from university with 9 exemptions I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the ACCA strategic professional exams.
Whilst I knew that it would be difficult, I didn’t expect the workload involved. Gerry stressed to me from the beginning to follow his weekly study plan – and that is exactly what I did – ‘a little often’.
I failed all the SBR mock exams – yes, all 5 of them!! I was used to doing well in exams from college – so failing these mocks was a big shock to me.
Gerry sent an email about two weeks before the final exam to reassure the class and manage our anxiety levels. In his email he shared with us his experience from a previous student who achieved 13% in their final mock exam three weeks before the exam – and then passed their final exam with 69%. This gave me the glimpse of hope I needed.
In my actual exam I remember sitting and thinking I don’t know enough to pass – as the demons of doubt started to probe my confidence levels.
I regained my composure – stuck to Gerry’s SBR exam strategy, hustled like never before and passed!!
I am looking forward to continuing my ACCA journey with PAT Business School with a renewed sense of self belief.

Totally recommend PAT to guide you through your ACCA exams. I sat FR in December 2021 and achieved a higher mark than I ever anticipated. This was all down to the dedication and encouragement of my fabulous Lecturers Gerry & Marta. They were always on hand to help when I was struggling with study & question practice.
PAT has so many advantages but the most important – is the SBR study material which Gerry has written. They were easy to understand and exam focused – which is what every student wants. After failing my SBR in the June 2021 sitting with 38% my friends gave me a very thoughtful gift for a four-week revision session with PAT and Gerry Fahy (for the September sitting). This provided me with exam focussed notes, access to their digital video library and the PAT exam practice platform. Gerry’s technique in how to answer questions and how to tackle the exam proved to be the difference. I am happy to say that not only did I pass my SBR exam, I succeeded by getting 62% this morning.
A colleague recommended PAT to me in 2019 when I was towards the end of my very long ACCA journey.
In April 2021, I only had 2 final ACCA exams left to complete and after many attempts of SBR, I was ready to give up and stay part qualified. After failing SBR twice with 47% I was at a low and lost all motivation to continue my ACCA studies. I took a year break and attended an ACCA webinar where I learned about PAT.
I enrolled with Gerry for the SBR June 2021 exam sitting. In the months following – the support and dedication I received from him was second to none. Previously I had never been given exam preparation support like that I received from PAT. Every week I received a detailed SBR study plan and a CBE mock exam – which mimicked the actual ACCA exam.
I can’t thank Gerry enough – when I was feeling overwhelmed, he was there with encouragement. The final exams are tough but if you put the work in and sacrifice you will get there. A friend recommended PAT to me, so I booked the SBR exam/course for the March sitting. Being an ACCA Accelerate student, I was completely lost.. I didn’t know where to start. ” I decided to study P2/SBR with Gerry for the December 2017 exam after he had been highly recommended by friends, however still with Gerry’s encouragement and support I still felt overwhelmed by the contents of the course so I decided not to sit the exam in December after going to all the lectures.

”For anyone deciding on what lecturer they should go to complete P2 I would strongly advise to go to Gerry Fathy from Professional Accountancy Training.
I have completed 12 out of the 14 exams from F1 to P3 and have attended lectures for all of them and would have to say Gerry stands out as the best because he has a plan how to pass P2 and if you stick to his plan no doubt you will pass.

“After the disappointment of failing P2 which I had worked so hard for, I did not have any confidence in attempting the SBR paper (which was a lot tougher) until I spoke with Gerry and attended his class for the June 2019 exam.

”Impending exam results – doom” – the title of the email I sent to Gerry a few days before exam results as I was sure I had failed SBR and wanted some advice on what my next steps should be – having exemptions from most of the F papers, I was terrified of SBR due to my lack of assumed knowledge but Gerry assured me it would not be a problem.
Gerry’s plan made all the difference. I left most lectures disheartened as I felt like I hadn’t grasped each concept discussed, I spoke with Gerry on numerous occasions as I felt like giving up, he was always at the other end of the phone or classroom telling me to not give up and to stick to his plan!
After getting 13% in the mock exam (three weeks before the exam) I had practically given up, but then a motivational message from Gerry would pop up on my email ending with STICK TO MY PLAN.
So I took his advice, I stuck to his plan and last night I got my results – PASSED with 69%.

”Gerry’s approach is strict and straightforward. He’s got notes for the chapter and exam questions to test yourself, all in one pack. The key to passing SBR is attendance and homework.
A few weeks before the exam I went through past questions and used Gerry’s notes to answer them.
After failing f7 twice with 49% and finally passing the third time round (with a different college) I was surprised I passed SBR first time round with a solid 50% while studying with Gerry.
